Yes, all our 1x, 2x and decking is kiln dried after treatment (KDAT), you can stain or paint it immediately after installation.

Any wood used for international shipping must be KD-HT stamped. While we can sell you that material, the rules under ISPM require that crates be built by a certified shop, then stamped with the ISPM 15 stamp. We are agency certified to build and stamp boxes for export.

We stock many of the standard profiles from the 1920s, 50s, 60s, and on to today's styles. If need be, we can also have custom moldings made to match your existing trim.

Wood exterior doors are beautiful to look at, but they do require extra care and proper installation. There must be a porch overhang of at least 42” to protect the door, and you will need to maintain the finish with regular re-coating. Therma-Tru fiberglass doors are a great alternative.

It's not as hard as you think! Careful measuring, a good miter saw, and the old carpenter’s rule of “Cut it upside down and backwards” will do the trick. Put the top of the crown to the base of your miter saw, then hold it at the angle it will fit to the wall. Next, cut the miter the opposite way from what you think would be correct. Inside corners are best done as cope cuts. Making miter cuts takes a little practice, so it's best to buy some extra molding.

AZEK boards are best fastened with Cortex hidden fasteners. The screws hold AZEK best as it moves with temperature swings. The cortex plugs provide a practically invisible fastening system. Miters and small moldings can be nailed with a stainless steel finish nail, and joints should be glued with AZEK adhesive.

Some interior doors can be cut down for height to fit a lower opening. Other opening sizes will require a custom-made door. We can solve this problem for you!

Walnut is a beautiful and desirable wood, but unfortunately a single tree from a neighborhood yard has no commercial value.

We stock 2x6 through 2x12 in lengths up to 20' and can order lengths up to 28'. Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) is available in lengths up to 48'.

While LVL is stronger than regular lumber, it is not a substitute for a steel beam. If you can provide a drawing showing dimensions and loads, we can help pick out an appropriate beam, subject to review by your structural engineer.
